Manoramma Amma, a doyen of Tamil Cinema and close friend of Sukumari Amma, passed away on 10th October 2015. She and Sukumari Amma were good friends, though Manoramma Amma was senior to her in age and profession.
We pray that Mr. Bhupathy and family find the strength to bear this loss.

Mrs. Sukumari, known to all Malayalis all over the world as “Sukumari Chechi” passed away on 26th March 2013, after a month in the hospital, due to burn injuries suffered from a lamp in the Pooja room in her house in Chennai.
Last rites were done on 27th of March 2013, in Chennai.
We thank Madam Selvi Jayalalithaa Amma Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, for all the help during difficult times, when Sukumari Amma was hospitalised. We thank the Chief Minister of Kerala Sri Oommen Chandy and several ministers and friends who had called and offered to have the rites done in Kerala with State Honours. But due to several reasons we had to take a decision to perform the last rites in Chennai. It was a difficult decision and we apologise for the sadness it might have caused to many Keralites. We thank all those who attended the funeral, and conveyed their sympathies and condolence in person, over phone and through mail. We are indebted to close Family and Friends who helped us during her hospitalization. We also thank the Doctors, Management & Staff at Global Hospital, who did their best during her treatment there.
March 2014: The Thila Homam and Annual Rites were performed according to the star sign, on 16th March 2014, by her son Dr. Suresh Bhimsingh at the Parasuraman Temple in Thiruvellam, Thiruvananthapuram. It is still difficult to believe that one year has gone by since she passed away.
- Sukumari Amma lives on in our hearts. We Miss Her Very Much. Family & Friends
